On May 4, 2011, South China Sea Fishery Resource and Environmental Science Survey Ship "Nan Feng" of SCSFRI returned after completing the tasks of joint fishery protection in Southwest Sha in South China Sea and scientific survey of resources and ecology of marine fisheries in west South China Sea. Mr. Jiang Shigui, the director of SCSFRI, and Mr. Yang Beisheng, the vice-director of SCSFRI warmly welcomed the return of "Nan Feng".
Mr. Jiang firstly congratulated on the successful return of the ship, and then discussed with the crew and research members on the results of the joint fishery protection the scientific survey. He hoped the members can sum up the experience and make persistent efforts and do exceedingly well in the future survey, so as to bring the role of survey ship "Nan Feng" into full play.
From April 9 to May 4, "Nan Feng" had travelled 3,702 n miles and fulfiled the tasks of collecting samples at 48 stations and fishing trials, which provides first-hand data for the studies on fishery resources, marine environment, ecological environment, permanent chemical pollutant in organisms, experimental fishing in fishing grounds, and so on.
