SCSFRI’s joint undertaking Sino-Vietnam Beibu Gulf Fishery Resources Proliferation, Release and Conservation Activities in 2018

In order to implement the Sino-Vietnam consensus, build the maritime silk road and maintain the fisheries resources,on May 8th, the joint proliferation and maintenance of fisheries resources in the Sino-Vietnam Beibu Gulf in 2018 was officially launched in the Beilun estuary of Dongxing, Guangxi. Vice Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ruan Yuwei, Deputy chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Ruan Yuwei, Deputy chairman of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and chief director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam have attended the event. The leaders and representatives from SCSFRI also attended.

The joint proliferation and conservation of fisheries resources in the Beibu Gulf, which is hosted by the South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute, jointly undertaken by the the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Oceanographic Research Institute, the Hainan Academy of Oceanographic and Fisheries Sciences and the Vietnam Marine Fisheries Research Institute, is an important part of the Fishery Resources Multiplication and Release and Conservation Projects in the Sino-Vietnam Beibu Gulf sponsered by the China ASEAN Maritime Cooperation Fund. The activity is the proliferation and release of the second organization since the project was established in 2016, and a total of groupers, red snappers, black breams and prawns were put into the waters of the Beibu Gulf.
